Greg "Fossilman" Raymer

Greg Raymer is the 2004 World Series of Poker champion. He is a married patent  attorney whose nickname "Fossilman" comes from the fossils he uses as card protectors at the table. Greg defeated a record field of 2576 players.  He won $5 million dollars for his first place finish which is the single largest cash prize for a poker tournament.  He commented that he played the best poker he has ever played and he got lucky.

Chris Moneymaker

Chris Moneymaker is the real name of the twenty-seven year old who won the 2003 World Series of Poker No Limit Hold'em Championship. Christopher Brian Moneymaker took the World Series of Poker 2003 by storm. There are many people who insist that it was the luck of the cards that earned Chris his victory. Although, luck played a part in his victory (it plays a part in every victory), he showed that he has the skill to play with the big boys.

Chris Ferguson

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson is one of the most recognizable faces in poker. He has a unique look with his long hair, beard, sunglasses, and hat. He obviously got his nickname, "Jesus", because of these looks. Chris won the prestigious Championship No Limit Holdem main event at the 2000 World Series of Poker. Chris is married and resides in Pacific Palisades, California. He does not travel the circuit as much as he used to.

Erik Seidel

Most people who are not very familiar with poker probably know Erik best for the final pot he lost to Johnny Chan in the 1988 World Series of Poker. It is famous because the footage was used in the movie Rounders. People familiar with poker know him for being one of the best No Limit players around. He is well respected by his peers because he is a World Class player, intellectual and a wonderful person.

Phil Hellmuth Jr.

Phil Hellmuth is one of the most successful tournament poker players of all time. His performance at the World Series of Poker alone is more than other players could ever dream of. He has a record nine gold bracelets (tying with Doyle Brunson and Johnny Chan), has placed in over 35 events, and is one of the all time top money winners. One of his bracelets was for winning the main event No Limit Hold'em in 1989 when he was only 24 years old, making him the youngest winner of the main event.
 

Johnny Chan

Johnny Chan may be poker's most well known name. He is a legend in the poker world for winning nine gold bracelets (tying Doyle Brunson and Phil Hellmuth Jr.), but more impressively is that two bracelets were from back to back Championship events in 1987 and 1988. Amazingly he almost won in 1989 too, but finished second to Phil Hellmuth. He is not only known by poker players, but also by movie goers for playing himself as the best poker player in the world in the movie Rounders.

Phil Ivey

Phil took home three gold bracelets in 2002 (tying the record held by Phil Hellmuth and Ted Forrest for most wins in a single year). Some other of his credits include winning two events at the 2003 Bellagio's Five-Star World Poker Classic, including the Seven Card Stud event and the $2,500 Omaha 8 or better. Even more incredible is that he placed third in the World Poker Tour Final where he proved that he is among the best of the best tournament players in the world.

Howard Lederer

Howard Lederer had appearances at the final table of the World Poker Tour in 2003, at the Foxwoods and Party Poker Million events. Not only did he make two appearances, he won both. Howard left college to become a chess player, but ended up finding his way to the poker tables. He worked by day and played by night. After many losses, he found a way to make a living at the poker table and become the player he is today.

Scotty Nguyen

Scotty's titles include Pot Limit Omaha at the 2001 World Series of Poker, Omaha High Low at the 1997 World Series, two World Poker Open titles at Foxwoods, Limit Hold'em and Seven Card Stud at the 2003 Legends of Poker, and Omaha HiLo and seven card stud at the 2003 Festa al Lago. Some of his 2003 final table appearances include second in No Limit Hold'em at the Legends of Poker and the Grand Slam of Poker, second in Omaha High at the World Poker Open, first place in H.O.S.E at Foxwoods World Poker Finals, and first place in Pot Limit Omaha at the Bellagio.
